Bruce had an outstanding 2008 season and was duly rewarded with his first Melbourne B&F after he played in every game and averaged a career-high 24 disposals. In a side that struggled, he was ranked No.1 in disposals, kicks, marks and inside 50s highlighting his importance to the team. Bruce has established himself as one of the competition's best utilities since making his debut in 2000 and this year he will assume the role of vice-captain. He is set to play his 200th game in 2009 and has scored 195 career goals.
