Dowler was selected at pick No.6 in the 2005 NAB AFL Draft and has only managed three games to date. Injuries have hampered the youngster as he failed to win a spot at AFL level in 2008. He spent last season playing for Box Hill in the VFL where he led the goalkicking. Suited more to a role in the forward-line, he can also play further up the ground on a wing or even on the ball.
