Blight was an unlucky omission from WA's squad for the 2008 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. He represented Swan Districts in the WAFL colts last season, averaging 20 disposals and winning the club's B&F at the end of the season. He was named on the half-back flank in the 2008 WAFL colts team of the year.
