Davis had a career best season in 2008 as he spent more time in the midfield than ever before. He averaged career high numbers in disposals, disposal efficiency, contested possessions, uncontested possessions and clearances. He also finished with a career high 32 goals and was rewarded with a career-best finish of fourth in the Copeland trophy. His best form of his career came in the last four rounds of the H&A season when he averaged 25 disposals, six marks, five inside 50s, four tackles and two goals per game.
