Betts is an excitement machine, but his output is still below the competition's best small forwards. He failed to kick more than three goals in a game last season and his defensive pressure was still below the likes of Matthew Campbell, Leon Davis and Cyril Rioli. Betts has kicked 20 or more goals in each of the last three seasons, but has had to work far too hard for his possessions in that time winning 50% in a contest - well above the AFL average.
