Banfield is a midfielder who played in Swan Districts' 2008 losing WAFL senior grand final team. He was promoted to the senior side in Round 17 and held his spot for the rest of the season. Banfield averaged 20 disposals per game at colt's level, but struggled for the same impact in the seniors.
