Since his breakout season in 2006 when he was an attacking general defender, Sherman has changed his role into a run-with one. In 2008 he played on the likes of Chris Judd, Shane Crawford, Brent Harvey and David Rodan. He averaged 15 disposals per game and kicked seven goals, figures that are well on his 2006 numbers of 22 disposals per game and 17 goals.
