Adcock has shared his AFL time between the midfield and defence opposed to the opposition's most dangerous small forward. He appeared to have established himself in the midfield after 2007 finishing second in the club B&F, however he failed to produce to the same level in 2008 finishing 10th in this award, which puts doubts over his long-term midfield prospects. He is seen as one of the hard Brisbane players laying more tackles than any other Lion in the last two years and ranking fourth in hardball-gets in that time.
