Charman will again be Brisbane's No.1 ruckman in 2008 with the highly rated Matthew Leuenberger still developing. He is a workhorse highlighted by the fact he competed in the sixth-most ruck contests of any player last year. His hitout-to-advantage rate was below average and the worst of the competition's top six hitout winners in 2008, and his ability to win the ball is well down on the elite ruckmen of the competition, averaging just 10 disposals last year. In eight AFL seasons, Charman has finished in the top-10 of the B&F just twice with a career best finish of sixth in 2006.
