Brown, one of the elite key forwards of the competition, has won the last two Brisbane B&F's after having more scoreboard impact than any other Lion last year taking into account scores and assists. He averaged more than three goals per game for the third successive season but his accuracy of 60% was the lowest he has recorded since 2002 and the fourth-lowest of the top-20 goalkickers in the AFL. Brown is the club captain on his own in 2009 after being a co-captain in 2007-08. His durability, which had huge question marks on it after the 2006 season, has improved in the last two years playing 43 of a possible 44 games.
