Schofield is a tall defender who has the size to fill holes both in the midfield and up forward. He managed nine games last season playing primarily in a defensive role, averaging four spoils and nine disposals per game. He didn't offer much in terms of attack and spent most of his time in the defensive 50. Schofield faces an important year as he looks to establish himself as a regular in the Eagles defence in 2009.
