McNamara was a consistent performer at WAFL level in 2008, averaging 26 disposals per game after averaging 23 in 2007. He played 11 games last season, but couldn't transform his solid WAFL form to the AFL averaging 15 disposals, five marks and three inside 50s per game. McNamara was used mainly off the bench and played most of his games in the second half of the season, showing gradual signs of improvement. A developing midfielder, McNamara will be looking for further opportunities in 2009.
