A first round selection in the 2005 NAB AFL Draft, Hurn has yet to fulfil the potential he showed as a junior. He could only manage the six games last season as a leg injury in Round 6 saw him miss the remainder of the year. He attempted a comeback late in the season, but was unable to get his body right. Hurn is a strong bodied player who has great pace and is a booming right foot kick. So far he has been used mainly in a role across half-back, but a move into the midfield has been earmarked form him as early as 2009.
