After struggling with injuries in 2007, Nicoski managed 19 games last season and showed some of run and drive from defence that makes him an important player for West Coast. Playing deep in defence, he averaged 16 disposals, four marks and three rebound 50s per game. Nicoski's form dropped off in the middle of the year and subsequently spent a few weeks at Subiaco in the WAFL. He then returned to play the remaining 11 games of the season and with his confidence returning, he was able to become more of a valuable contributor.
