Cox stamped himself as the best ruckman in the AFL after another outstanding season. With the Eagles struggling, Cox averaged career highs in disposals, contested possessions and clearances, despite playing most of the season with a fracture in his right foot. His ability to cover the ground and be used as a link up player makes him one of the hardest players to match up on. Cox was ranked second in the AFL in hitouts last season and was rewarded for his fine season with his fourth All-Australian honour and first club B&F award.
