Baker played just two games in 2008 - his equal fewest tally in a season since making his debut in 1999. He missed the first five games through suspension and then injured his knee, keeping him out of the second half of the season. He has been the Saints' No.1 tagger for some time playing on the likes of Ben Cousins, Jason Akermanis, Brad Johnson, Gary Ablett, Brent Harvey and Shaun Burgoyne in the past two years.
