Redden is a developing ruckman who performed well for South Australia in the 2008 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships averaging nine disposals and 13 hitouts per game. He has the ability to play as a key forward but he will be groomed by the Power as a ruckman. He started in the SANFL under-19's last season but after an impressive display on debut he played out the remainder of the year in the Woodville-West Torrens reserves where he scored 22 goals in 15 games.
