Hartlett was selected at pick No.4 in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft and comes to Port Adelaide with big expectations. An elite junior midfielder, he was South Australian's best performing player at the 2008 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships averaging 17 disposals, four inside 50s and three tackles per game. He averaged more hardball-gets and clearances last year than any other 2008 draftee and was rewarded with All-Australian selection. Hartlett also made five appearances for West Adelaide in the SANFL and will no doubt be given his AFL debut this season.
