Farmer made a good impression in his first year in the AFL and played three games late last season. He didn't have a major impact but he showed enough to suggest that he will progress to be a solid player. He played 18 matches in the SANFL last season for Sturt and was used mainly in defence. His toughness and attack on the ball is a feature of his game and he will no doubt be given further opportunities in 2009.
