Lower established himself as a permanent member of the Power's defence last year after playing the final 11 games of the season. The tough defender failed to play a game in 2007 after playing four games in his debut year in 2006. He was given the job on one of the opposition's smaller forwards and despite his negating role, he was able to average 14 disposals and three marks per game. Lower is the twin brother of North Melbourne's Ed.
