Salopek is yet play out a full season as the former first round draft pick has had to contend with a number of injuries throughout his career. It was an achilles problem that restricted him to 15 games in 2008 where he averaged career highs in disposals, marks and inside 50s. His best work is done at the stoppages and he is also quite effective by foot. With 78 games under his belt, Salopek has now established himself in the Port Adelaide midfield and is vitally important to the Power's fortunes heading into 2009.
