Yze's remarkable streak of 226 consecutive games came to an end in 2007 as poor form and injuries struck. He was dropped from the Melbourne senior side in Round 2 after poor pre-season form and a disappointing finals series in 2006. He managed just eight senior appearances last season, with injury ending his season at Round 12. A utility who has excelled in defence, through the midfield and even up forward, Yze will be hoping to bounce back to his best in 2008.
