Garland was Melbourne's third selection in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft and spent the majority of his first season in the VFL. He was promoted for two senior games for the Demons but was given only limited opportunities. A key forward who is strong overhead, Garland will be hoping for more chances to break into the Melbourne forward setup in 2008.
