Meesen was a top-10 draft pick selected by Adelaide in the 2004 NAB AFL Draft but was traded to Melbourne after three fruitless seasons. He made just two senior appearances in his three years at Adelaide, instead spending time in the SANFL or on the sidelines injured. A highly-rated junior ruckman, the Demons will be hoping a change of club will see him realise his potential.
