Jamar was Melbourne's back-up ruckman in 2006 but went backwards last season, playing the opening five games and the final five games of the season. A victim of limited opportunity due to Jeff White's remarkable durability, Jamar has a modest career average of five disposals per game in 56 career outings. In 2008 he will be competing with John Meesen for the position as White's back-up, making it even harder for him to re-establish himself in the Melbourne side.
