Whitecross' junior performances in 2007 weren't as impressive as the previous year, however he was still snapped up by the Hawks with selection No.29 in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft. The stats star of the 2006 NAB AFL Under-16 Championships, Whitecross failed to have the same impact when representing his state at under-18 level in 2007.
