Renouf's first season at Hawthorn was spent in the VFL after being recruited at the end of 2006. Drafted for his impressive ruck performances as a junior, Renouf has plenty of competition for a ruck spot at the Hawks, however as a junior he also showed on occasions that he could play as a key defender or forward.
