After struggling with injuries early in his career, Boyle finally became a regular in the Hawthorn line-up in 2007, playing 20 games and booting 32 goals as a key forward. Despite a promising beginning to the year, Boyle's form tapered towards the end, missing four games through injury from Rounds 14-17 and then returning to score just four goals in the final seven games of the season. Boyle may face competition for his spot in the side with the likes of Beau Dowler, Mitch Thorp and Jarryd Morton also looking for a place in the Hawthorn attack.
