After managing just four games in 2006 he consolidated a permanent spot in the Hawks' back-line, playing all 24 games and the second-most minutes of all his teammates. He performed well on one of the opposition's best forwards each week, Gilham is purely a stopper at this stage of his career, focusing on his opponent rather than setting up play.
