Clarke's 2007 season was ruined by an achilles injury only two weeks into the H&A season. Highly regarded within the Hawks' camp, the injury struck at a bad time for Clarke who had shown a lot of improvement over the previous three years and had averaged 17 disposals in the opening two rounds of the season.
