Tarrant was a high profile recruit for the Dockers in 2007 and while he may not have returned the numbers people expected of him last year, there was plenty of promise. With Matthew Pavlich playing close to goal, Tarrant roamed further up the ground than when at Collingwood yet still booted 33 goals and had the second-most scoreboard impact at the club. He scored more than three goals in a game only once but was goalless only four times.
