Hinkley is a lightly built midfielder who was taken by Fremantle with pick No.24 in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft. He averaged 23 disposals in his 16 games for North Ballarat in the 2007 TAC Cup, recording good numbers as both an inside and outside midfielder.
