Schammer's 2007 pre-season was ruined due to an appendix operation in January which allowed him to make only seven senior appearances for the Dockers last season. Proving his ability to find the ball when on the park, Schammer ranked second at the Dockers in disposals per minute in 2007. At 22 and with a career average of 16 disposals in 84 games, Schammer still has a bright future ahead in the Fremantle midfield.
