Williams did not play for Queensland at the 2007 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships as he was sidelined with a dislocated shoulder. He is a wingman who represented Morningside in the AFLQ. Williams underwent shoulder surgery during the pre-season and as a result he will be given plenty of time to develop his game in the VFL in 2008.
