Hislop made his debut in Round 14 last season and managed to string three games together in a row. He is a tough inside midfielder who was a star for Tasmania at the 2006 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. He averaged 20 disposals per game and finished with the most tackles and long kicks at the carnival and was rewarded with selection into the All-Australian side at the completion of the carnival. In his three appearances last season he averaged just 11 disposals per game but his defensive pressure was impressive as he laid four tackles per game.
