Dempsey has played six games for the Bombers after being selected with pick 19 at the 2005 NAB AFL Draft. His 2007 was injury riddled as he managed just five appearances for the Bendigo Bombers in the VFL. With the Bombers desperately lacking speed through the midfield and Matthew Knights promising to play the youngsters in 2008, Dempsey should get the chance for more senior appearances this season.
