Peverill was Essendon's No.1 disposals winner last season despite missing three games throughout the season. He also led the club in hardball-gets and ranked second in clearances and handball-receives. He finished with 30 or more disposals in six games last season but despite this form he was surprisingly dropped after winning 17 disposals against Fremantle in Round 19. He also continued his run-with roles throughout the season beating the likes of Nick Stevens, Nick Dal Santo, Scott Burns and Sam Mitchell.
