Macaffer was the leading goalkicker in the 2006 TAC Cup finishing with 70 goals in 20 games. His tally was even more impressive considering that he was kept goalless in his first four games that season. Despite playing as Gippsland's full-forward in 2006, his height was always going to restrict him from playing this position in the AFL. He played 10 games for Williamstown in the VFL seniors last season booting just four goals, while his 11 reserves games netted a return of 26 goals.
