Nathan and his twin brother Mitch were taken six picks apart at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft. Nathan was selected first, taken by the Magpies with pick 10. He spent most of last season playing for Williamstown in the VFL where he played 15 games as a key defender and was named in the best just once. He is seen as a future centre half-back for the club.
