At 19 years of age before the start of last season, Goldsack was the oldest of all of Collingwood's 2006 draftees. He made his debut in Round 8 last season and played 17 of the final 18 games. He played the third-most games of any player taken at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft and, playing as a general defender, conceded 30 goals to his direct opponents throughout the season. Goldsack also won 42 of his 88 groundball-gets in the defensive 50 last season - the second most at Collingwood. He also averaged six contested possessions per game - the most of any 2007 debutant.
