In his first season on the Magpies list, Bryan played 12 games and also got a taste of finals football playing in two of the Magpies' three finals. He was used up forward and in the ruck where he struggled to have an effect around the stoppages winning the hitout at just 27% of the contests and averaging just over one clearance per game. Bryan is a handy back-up option in the ruck, but because of his size he would struggle if needed to shoulder the responsibilities as the No.1 ruckman.
