Stanley made his debut in Round 11 last season and found himself with the daunting task of minding Demon dynamo Russell Robertson. He conceded two goals in the 53 minutes he was opposed to him - an admiral result considering Robertson was on fire finishing with seven goals for the match. He also played 15 games for Williamstown in the VFL and was named in the best on four occasions. Despite playing just two games so far in his short career, Stanley is seen as a future starter for the Magpies and should get more chances in 2008.
