Shaw played all 25 games last season and finished with the third-most disposals, effective kicks, short kicks, contested possessions and contested marks at the club. He also recorded the most long kicks to advantage at Collingwood and the 10th-most in the AFL. He is the Magpies' most damaging playmaker as he launched 17 more scores than anyone else at the club in 2007. His best game of the season was against Essendon on ANZAC Day when he won 32 disposals, 13 marks and nine rebound 50s and was awarded the ANZAC Day medal for best on ground. He has finished equal fourth in Collingwood's B&F in the past two seasons and finished third in the 2006 NAB Rising Star Award.
