Reid was the youngest player selected at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft taken with Collingwood's first pick (8th overall) at that draft. He managed three games last season playing as a leading forward booting two goals from six scoring shots. He played 16 matches for Williamstown in the VFL, booting 19 goals including two bags of four. He has not only taken over Chris Tarrant's old No.20, but is also being groomed to play a similar role in the Magpies forward-line. He worked hard for his marks last season grabbing eight of his 15 marks on a lead.
