Brazilian born, O'Brien now has three years of AFL experience under his belt and has become an important component in Collingwood's defence. He played a career-high of 23 games last season and played the fourth-most minutes of any Magpie during the season. He conceded the most goals at Collingwood (35) never conceding more than four in a game. He ranked third at the club in spoils and also swooped on the third most groundball-gets in the defensive 50.
