Maxwell played all 25 games last season playing the third most minutes of any player at the club. He laid a career-high of four tackles and effected a career-high four spoils per game. He conceded 24 goals to his direct opponents across the season, conceding more than two goals on just two occasions. Maxwell has inherited the No.5, Nathan Buckley's old number, and is in the mix to replace Buckley as captain for the 2008 season.
