Swan has become an important component in Collingwood's midfield in the past two seasons leading the club in disposals, kicks, marks and contested possessions in that time. His ball usage struggles at times as his disposal efficiency was the lowest of the Magpies top-10 ball winners last season. He finished equal fourth in the Magpies B&F count (a career-high) and was an early leader in last years Brownlow medal eventually finishing equal fourth at the end of the count.
