Johnson played 19 games last season including four as Collingwood captain. He had a breakout season in 2006 and despite a drop in numbers his 2007 was also solid. He has finished equal second in Collingwood's B&F twice (2004 & 2006) and last season ranked third at the club for inside 50s and sixth for inside 50s and rebound 50s combined. He had a disappointing end to last season as he was suspended for a high bump on Melbourne's Daniel Bell in Round 20 last season, costing him six matches and forcing him to be absent during Collingwood's entire 2007 finals campaign.
