Edwards played 10 games for the Northern Bullants in 2006 and 12 in 2007. He remains the only player taken by Carlton at the 2005 NAB AFL Draft yet to play an AFL game. Playing for the Western Jets at junior level he showed he could play at both ends of the ground and was strong overhead.
