Simpson captained Carlton in six games last season and has not missed a match in the past two seasons. He played the third most minutes at Carlton last season leading the side in score assists along with Marc Murphy. He is a player that gains plenty of territory with his long kicks and run-and-carry as he finished with the third most running bounces of any player in the AFL during the H&A season. He has finished in the top five of the Carlton B&F in the past two seasons.
